Just engaged! Where do I begin?

My fiance proposed to me on Christmas day in front of my whole family. It was so beautiful and emotional. I'm so happy to finally be marrying the man of my dreams. We haven't set a date yet but we're looking at maybe late November. That only gives us 11 months. My mom has a co worker whose daughter is a wedding planner, so we'll be contacting her because I'm totally not into planning. What is a good budget to spend on a wedding. My parents are very traditional and they want to pay for our wedding costs. My fiance and I will be paying for our honeymoon, each others rings, the cake, photography and any extras we want for the wedding. We just don't know how much on average weddings are going to cost. Any advice will help. I have been looking online the past couple days but I'm clueless and overwhelmed about how much stuff there is.

I would say figure out the amount of people that both sides will be inviting, then you'll have a better estimate about which venues will fit those people, the costs for that, and the costs to feed X amount of people. <3

Well, most people go into it having a budget to start with, and that determines how big they can go. You need to know what your parents can afford.

Thank you. We will have to get our parents and our lists together to get an estimate. For our baby shower we had like 80 people there and we had no family from out of state so I'm sure it is going to be pretty big. I'm just really excited! I can't wait to say " I do"...

Also did any of you have premarital classes? When is a good time to do that? We want to use my fiance's pastor as our officiant and he requires that.

You usually need to schedule those 6 months in advance of your chosen date.

well it does depend on where u want to have your wedding how many people will attend if you want small simple church wedding of big blow out wedding. my average will be about 24-26 thousand i want a big one though one the beach in miami with the reception in a very nice hotel right on miami beach so mines will be pretty up their that was just average we might have to pay more idk...
