Gripe Water?

posted 28th Dec
My DS is 11 weeks old. He is SUPER fussy most of the time and seems very gassy. We've been using gas drops for awhile, even using them at every feeding, but I don't think they are working much anymore. Last week he acted like he was starving all the time, taking formula every 1.5-2 hours at times. Our doctor said we could try a little cereal in the bottle to help, but this week he is even fussier and not even finishing his bottles. We've stopped the cereal now. If that doesn't help, I was thinking of trying gripe water, because I have heard good things about it. If we try it, should we stop using the gas drops? Did you little one get constipated on gas drops? Usually DS poops once a day, but he didn't go much yesterday and I don't think he's gone today yet. Any other tips for an extremely fussy baby? He fights sleep and seems to want attention all the time, we're getting so frustrated and my babysitter (my mom) is really struggling.

gas drops actually helped my son go poop. Have you tried a dif formula??..thats seems like it would be the best answer.

He started out on Similac Advance. Then we switched to Similac Sensitive. Then we tried Enfamil sensitive but he spit up a lot more on that so we went back to Similac Sensitive. We also switched to Platex Nurser bottles with drop in liners. At times that has seemed to be a decent combination, but not now. I'm hoping taking him off the cereal will help and that he's over the growth spurt or whatever led to him demanding to eat so often last week, but we'll see :-/

My Son was extremely gassy. We used gas drops and gripe water. I found the Little Tummy's worked best than any other brand. (even though it's the same active ingredient   ) Also, the MAM bottles were a charm as well.

To help him tolerate eating better you can do smaller amounts of formula more frequently. Burp him after like every ounce to two ounces and of course do the bicycle movement with his legs and lots of tummy time.

Idk if u can find it near you, was a pain for me my daughter had horrible gas when she was on bm and formula (I had to pump before she finally latched) I got desperate one night found something called colic calm, it fixes gas, hiccups, all kind of things.

The gas drops actually made my LO's tummy hurt worse. They work by binding to the gas to make it easier for them to burp it up, but if they don't burp then it gets into there intestines and makes them hurt worse. We used them for several weeks and then stopped and she has felt better

We use a natural gas drop for Declin and Keagan and it seemed to work.

Gripe water was a savior to us. It was the only thing that worked for gas and tummy troubles. My DD is 9 months old and we still use it!
