They're right. Being dilated means nothing until you are in active labor. I'm surprise your doctor didn't know that.

Yep I'm 3cm for weeks and the baby is low and nothing no contractions or anything.

I'm at 3 cm with contractions every 3 minutes. I could be stuck like this for weeks. I've known people who were 4-5cm for a month before birth. Dilation is no indicator on when you will go into labor

I normally hang out for over a month at 3cm's dilated. Last time i was 2 to 3 cm's dilated from 34 weeks until I was induced.

You're only 36 weeks? Unless medically necessary, they won't induce you until you are 39+.

And how do they know how healthy she is? She could actually only be 34 weeks.

<blockquote><b>Quoting Theknights:</b>" Dont know, they just said with her being 7lbs and as ready as she is she could be here anytime and they ... [snip!] ... to wait another week or two to see what happens and if nothing happens theyll possibly induce me so he can be here to see her."</blockquote>
I'm not trying to argue with you or anything, but those weights can be seriously off, and I'd be seriously iffy about them wanting ton induce me before I am term. I know it sucks that your husband might not be there, but I happens all the time. I'd only think about inducing with those circumstances at 39 weeks.

Kylees mama is right. Your husband could be there to see your daughter born early and possibly have respiratory and neuro problems her whole life, or he can be there for her to watch her grow like a healthy young girl should. I would pray that you make it to term. You dont want to regret anything later. Good luck!

All of my pregnancies have been high risk and they would never induce at 36 weeks unless something life and death was going on with the baby. My middle son was IUGR (smaller than he was suppose to be) and they wouldn't even induce then until the end of my 37th week. Of course i went in for monitoring and an amnio to tell them when it was safe to take him, but still. I would seriously question my choice in OB's if my dr decided to do an elective induction for no medical reasons at 36 weeks.
