That's what I'm planning on. My family is driving me nuts about it. "What's his name?" "Wouldn't it be easier to talk about him if you called him his name" "Maybe he'd come sooner if he had a name". But honestly, even if we had the name picked, I wouldn't tell them. I don't want to hear their opinions this time around.

LOL I completely understand. This is why I started calling him Olly the minute I knew he wasn't the girl I'd thought he was. I figured, I'd either get Oliver like I felt was his name, or at least I'd have something to call him other than Batman and Jellyfish. LOL

I feel you, I'm really picky about boys names too. Are there any family names that mean something to you? If and when I have a son, he'll be named after my dad.

We called DD Skeletor until we found out she was a girl and decided on a name.

Yeah, we've been calling him "Roo" since I found out I was pregnant, because it worked for a girl or a boy. I also called him a "she" or a "her" though. I was convinced he was a girl. I still kind of wish he was.

He will probably end up Dylan though. Even though as of right now, it doesn't feel like his name. I really like Lincoln, I keep coming back to it, but dh does not. He doesn't give any suggestions. Just turns down all of mine.

Not on my side. My son has the family middle name for his middle name (he's the 4th generation to have his middle name) The only reason I did that was because my grandpa was the 1st and it meant a lot to him that I carry it on. My brother was the 3rd and didn't make it long after birth. Since I changed my last name when I got married, he really wanted his middle name to carry on. He raised me better than my own father, so I felt obligated. Other wise, i don't really care for family names.

We were thinking Maxwell Ransom because Luther Ransom was a man on my husband's side who fought in the civil war. Since my son has a family middle name, we thought it might be clever to use another middle name for a middle name. He just doesn't feel like a max and Oliver Ransom has too many R's IMO.

Barnaby is.. just no! And Linus reminds me of Charlie Brown, but is the better of the two, and I think Oliver is adorable.

No Barnabus. Barnabus is dog in a graphic novel I used to read as a teenager. My friends used to call me by his owner's name as Nic name and I have a stuffed dog whom I named Barnabus because of my nickname. I still have him and my kids like to snuggle up with him (he's still pretty soft and snuggly) That stuffed dog is almost a part of the family. He's gone on long car ride, dr's apts, out to dinner.. You get it. LOL SO, no.. Barnabus isn't useable.

Quoting Devil Duckie:" So we're pretty sure (at least for now.) the first name is Oliver. Husb wants Linus and or Barnaby. Which is less awful? I realize they are not for everyone. It's ok if you say both are really bad. "
