Diono Radian

posted 28th Dec
I've been looking into a couple car seats for DS. I'm leaning more towards the Diono Radian RXT because of it's shell height.. DS is pretty tall. I was curious if any of you momma's that have this seat would mind sharing some pics of your LO in it? I can't find any in store and would like to see how well it ''cradles'' the child, I'm wanting a seat that has tall sides, much like an infant carrier.

The seat DS has now cradles him really well, these pics are pretty old, but you can see how tall the sides are:

I also have a couple other questions if you don't mind
1) How difficult is it to adjust the shoulder straps?
2) How tall is the highest slot on the shoulder straps?

DS will be 3 in March and is still RF and I would like him to as long as possible, but he is getting close to the one inch mark on his current seat. His current seat has a pretty tall shell too though.

The Diono will not cradle your child like the seat you have posted. They are made super slim and slender with a steel frame.

They are the best out there for height and weigh RF.

Haha! That would be awesome! I want one so bad, but I am hesitant to buy something I have yet to see in person and try out.

Shoot. I know the seat is steel reinforced, do you think it would offer just as much side protection as the one I posted? I know the one we have now is side impact tested and has some special features for it.

They have a side impact system. You can read about it on their website.

Thanks for sharing! Doesn't look like it cradles the way I'd like it too, but everything I've read says it's pretty damn safe

I would have bought one by now if I could test it out in my car lol. DS's current seat is huge and barely fits RF. I want him to remain RF but I am worried the tall shell will make it impossible. Which color did you get?!

I will see if I can remember to snap a pic of my RF LO tomorrow.

You can get a foam piece that goes under the seat to adjust the incline just a tad and give it more room. I have a civic and it fits RF easily. If you have buy buy baby local they should have one you can try out.

I got Storm..which happened to be the cheapest on amazon..but its the color i wanted anyway. And i didnt test it out because i could find a store around m that carried them..so im hoping for the best! lol . the reviews seem good with it fitting in vehicles so i think i'll be good.
