Splotchy rash on 18 month old (pics) help!

posted 27th Dec
My 18 month old DS has been sick the last few days. He has had a low fever off and on for three days, and was very lethargic and refusing food. Yesterday and today he has been playing and eating much better, but he has been extremely cranky, has had a major attitude (hitting, yelling, throwing things, ect) and he just isnt acting like himself. He has also been waking up alot in the middle of the night (2-4 times a night) and fussing/whimpering for a few seconds, then falls back asleep, and sleeping more in the day. Tonight, while we were doing our "get ready for bed routine", I noticed a splotchy red rash on his chest, stomache and legs. It isnt raised, and it doesnt have any bumps at all. My computer is being stupid and wont let me post pictures, but here are the links. Sorry the lighting is horrible in my house. There isnt a yellow tint to his skin, and I brightened the second pic so you can see more....

It could just be prickly heat from him sweating while having the fever. In the first pic I don't see much if anything and in the second it looks more like the edit than anything else. But ifs not hot to the touch or he isn't scratching it, I'm sure he is ok. Just keep an eye on it.

It looks like a heat rash, but could be as simple as a viral rash. I don't think it looks quite the same but then again the pics aren't very clear...but my niece had 5ths and acted similarly.

Yeah the pictures definately suck lol. The rash itself is red, but you can see the splotchy-ness better in the edited pic. He has had heat rash before, and I am pretty sure this isnt it. I have been googling and cant find anything that looks like it though, which I am taking for a good sign. I'm gonna call his doctor in the morning if it is still there.
