Question about Medicare

My son has Medicare and he got a nebulizer when he was one and they paid for it, but I was wondering if they would pay for him a new one. Not sure what is wrong with this one but it doesn't want to work sometimes. My son went to the doctor today and she asked if he had one already and I told her yes because he does and last time I had it out (almost a year ago) it worked fine, but now its not so great. So will they pay for him another one if she writes a script for one or do I have to buy it out of pocket? Anyone know anything about this? TIA

Do you mean he has medicaid? I'm not sure about medicare but with medicaid I know they'll only give you one every 3 or 4 years. My daughter lost the filter to hers and they told me to call the medox number and they'd probably send me a new filter but medicaid wouldn't give me another machine since she's only had it for 2 years.

Yes sorry, I get confused as to which is which. He has SoonerCare in Oklahoma. I think this one has a short in the wire or something.

Call the doctors office and ask them for the number to call and i'm sure they'll send you a new plug.

they only cover them once in a 4 year period i have one and have had it since i was 18 im 24 now works like it did the day i got it try changing the filter in it.

No need to get snobby with me just because nobody on here likes you.   But, on the one that my kids have, yes you can change the plug.

her nebulizer probably still works after four years cause she never used it ....just got if from being a hypochondriac
