It's different for every family if you can financially support them emotionally support them and you are your spouse are happy then go for it.

When I feel that I am done or would have trouble supporting all of them. If I can't afford college for more than 2 then that's when I'll stop.

My husband only wanted two, and has an appointment for a vasectomy next month, but surprise to us! I'm pregnant.
So, he'll have to get used to three. But we're done after this one.

I want 5 total. I'm about to have my 4th. I get pretty overwhelmed with the 3 I have now but I know that it won't always be like this. 6 will be my absolute limit though lol

As long as you can feed all your kids and provide comfortably for them. Depends on your standard of living. If you live in the country and have a farm you can grow your own food and have lots of handmedowns of clothes, toys, etc...you can afford 5+. That's if you have no intention of paying for college and potentially supporting them until they are 25 lets face it, the economy isn't getting better.

You might want to consider how you would support a large family in the event your spouse if they are the sole provider was unable to work. No one's job is secure in this day and age, even if the husband is an engineer or something supporting a large family is a daunting task.

I'm having my second child, I always wanted at least two and know we can support two children growing up and putting them in the things they want to do, etc...helping them thru college if they wish NOT PAYING FOR IT just assisting them, they will have to get a part time job, scholarships, like I did, sorry. Thinking about having a third maybe, so my children can hopefully be together after we are gone and hopefully love/support each other.

In other words, there is no magic number as long as my taxes aren't helping ppl who have no desire to work or better themselves breed.
