Period Question

posted 27th Dec
I've been super heavy for 2.5 days. Filling a regular pad every two hours and waking up every few hours needing to change my underwear and sleeping on a towel. I'm wondering if this is too much? I've been through a pack of 36 pads+ some in a new pack, since Christmas morning.

If you are filling up a pad in two hours, I'd call your doctor. Better safe than sorry at that point.

I would go to the doctor, that seems like a little much. I got my period on Christmas day as well and as it is a heavy period I haven't even been through a pack of 30's yet

Is this your first or second postpartum period? If so, I would say that's pretty normal. My first 3 postpartum periods were HORRIBLE. Really heavy and seemed to last forever (usually I have medium-to-light periods that last 3 days max.) By about the fourth one, however, they started to go back to normal.

If it's NOT a postpartum period, however, I would probably call your doctor. You may need to be put on iron supplements, if nothing else, because all that blood loss can cause anemia. They may also check you for fibroids, which can cause heavy bleeding.

Off to call the dr. I'm really tired and have been fighting sleep, all day.

No. LO is 15 months. Although I had Mirena removed a few months ago. The second one was super late. And this one is super heavy.

It could be due to the Mirena removal. But again, it being that heavy could cause anemia so better safe than sorry.

The thing is, is that I am always anemic. Even with iron supplements. I'm sure this isn't helping. I'm just waiting for a call back to see what to do.
