When to give my baby solids?

I have a premature son born at 21 weeks. He is now 5 months old but the doctors only consider him 2 months old. I have asked the ped, if I can try to see if he will eat solids but she said that it just depends on the baby, and it wasn't really a clear answer. I feel like he doesn't get full all the time off just formula, but I don't want to hurt his insides. The doctor also said that he is "mature" for a premee already holding his head up and breaking teeth, even though hes only "2 months". Any advice?

6+ months. I would personally go off his adjusted age of 2 months, not his living age of 5 months. But I postpone solids until 12 months so the later the better IMO.

His adjusted age, especially with that big of a gap.

They don't NEED anything but formula until 12 months. So I would wait until he is 6 months adjusted.

6 months and I think it's by adjusted age not actual. Just give more formula of e is hungry no reason to rush into solids.

My doc said to start solids at 6 mos ACTUAL age. She told me there was no benefit to waiting at that point, but just to go slow with introducing new foods (there is a dairy/soy allergy). We have been introducing one new food per week since 6 mos on the dot. They don't actually ingest a whole lot of the foods yet, but are playing around with it in their mouths to nail down the coordination of everything and getting used to the spoon.
