Quoting Phayyy:" I have a premature son born at 21 weeks. He is now 5 months old but the doctors only consider him 2 months ... [snip!] ... that he is "mature" for a premee already holding his head up and breaking teeth, even though hes only "2 months". Any advice?"My doc said to start solids at 6 mos ACTUAL age. She told me there was no benefit to waiting at that point, but just to go slow with introducing new foods (there is a dairy/soy allergy). We have been introducing one new food per week since 6 mos on the dot. They don't actually ingest a whole lot of the foods yet, but are playing around with it in their mouths to nail down the coordination of everything and getting used to the spoon.
