I didn't pay anything for my divorce. My (soon to be ex)husband-at-the-time got a lawyer to write up the paperwork, he paid that lawyer, it wasn't much though. His fees to him cover the court filing, etc.
Check your state rules though, what you can and can't do is different everywhere.

Are you going to be fighting for custody? If you agree on 50/50 or whatever works for you guys it makes it easier. When my husband and I were talking about divorce we agreed that I could have the kids but he could see them whenever he wanted, it would have only costed us about 200 to finalize it but we ended up working things out

Go to the court and file the paperwork. You'll get a date for the hearing if you need one, a judge looks it over and signs it. Done.

Where do i get the paperwork? We dont want to go to court & we agree on everything. We have nothing together but LO & we want joint legal custody & she resides/lives with me.

Ok... But i dont have any idea how to word any of it. After i fill them out what do i do?Just pay the filing fee then its done or ???
