Well good luck..

Um, yes you did.

ETA: And that's just selfish, IMO. The pitocin contractions are much stronger and harder on your baby...you should let your baby come when she's ready.

Yeah, you did state that. And my reply still stands.

Um, that's exactly what you said.

I have decided to be induced on January 25, 2013. Not because I am sick of being pregnant, I love it. But my baby is currently almost 6 lbs. If she keep gaining 1/2 lb a week she is going to be a big baby.

So don't be mad because people are responding to what you said.

I felt the same way about my doctor with my first to the point that I was going to be induced at 39 weeks because I didn't know any better. Luckily I went into labor on my own on the day she was on call I was so excited until she went home sick one hour before I delivered and I got my least fave doctor. Know what it didn't matter at all I spent more time with nurses only saw the doctor once that was to catch and stitch then he was gone. With my second there was 0 chance my doctor would of delivered as none of the doctors in office do the hospital some are strictly office some are hospital.

The doctor was telling me throughout my whole pregnancy that he thought my baby was really big. I was 37 weeks and he told me that my baby was already 8 lbs... at 39 weeks he decided to induce me because of the weight of my baby... I had my son at 39 weeks and 3 days, Adrian came out weighing 7lbs 6 oz... I could have waited til he was ready instead of forcing him out....

And the:
"Plus I am worried that my doctor won't be there if I go into labor naturally and I really like my doctor." was just added in there. So initially the wight was a concern for you, OP. Still no reason to force induction.

The midwife I would have wanted to deliver my baby was not the one on call when I went into labor...but I had DH, my mother, my sister, and SIL there for support. I hardly noticed who was delivering the baby.

I love love LOVE my prenatal ob. He is seriously the best doctor ever! He calls me himself he came over to the hospital on his off day to calm me down when my baby was transferred to nicu because I asked for him. He didn't deliver my baby. But the two women that did were amazing. Even if its not your doctor it doesn't mean that the one you do get will be awful.

I don't need any of your judgments. I love my baby more than anything and have done a lot of research and asked tons of questions. If I for one second thought it was going to be harmful to my baby I wouldn't do it!!!! But I know the risk. I have done more to make sure my baby is safe than most mothers I know! I don't drink alcohol, never had done drugs, never smoke, don't have sex with inappropriate partners, don't even drink caffeine drinks, keep every single appointment in regards to my baby, done mountains of research, got involved with pregnancy support groups and agencies, took every parenting class they offer around here, took birthing classes through my hospital and so much more.

So don't you dare freaking judge me! If this is what baby gaga is about then this isn't the site for me.

You know what? People are gonna talk smurf to you about this, but don't worry about it! It's YOUR pregnancy! Anyways, I have been induced with all 3 of my kids and have had the same OB/GYN for 20 years. With my oldest (now 1 , I was induced 2 weeks early because she was running out of amniotic fluid. Both my 2nd and 3rd children (now 11 and 4) were induced electively. My son specifically was induced on November 28 because my doctor was going out of town for Thanksgiving on the 29th. I also did NOT want some "on call" doctor to deliver my child. This woman has been through EVERYTHING with me for the last 20 years, including my very difficult birth with my oldest who was diagnosed with DS, the day AFTER she was born! If your doctor is ok with it, and it's not more than 10-12 days early, I don't see a problem with it! My SIL is getting induced a week early so that my brother can see his son born before he's deployed...
I've also heard lots of horror stories about people who were induced. Lots of pain with Pitocin and emergency C-sections are what I hear about most.. I had my epidural in place already, before she broke my water, so I didn't feel any pain. I also didn't have to have a C-section. I know it does end up happening to a lot of people though, so just be aware!
