thanks mama! We had the scans back on Dec 4th, recieved the results on the 11th...and no, there are no preliminary results given.
When I asked the clinic years ago about it, the answer was, when a survey taken in unknown year to unknown amount of parents,the consensus was most parents would prefer exact results then a 'guess' result, even if it means waiting.

oh boy.

My son is 22 months cancer free   So very much to be happy for, and I guess why so much of the arguemnents dont matter anymore. Like I said, the childhood hospital world is just smurffy all around.

We have to have a written doctors note, otherwise we are neglecting the basic needs for a child. I agree it is dumb, and there should be a loop hole.

BUT I've personally had parents request their children not eat because they were 'bad' the night before/morning of drop off.

the kids have late ones there too?? Ridiculous eh?

Maximus' favorite place is home lol. He never has a good appetite after, so we just come home and have a fun munchie food night since we never get home till about 5.

SO.....daycare is on a holiday schedule for this week and next, I signed Maximus out so more staff would have time off. Well he was sick all week last week so I called and asked if I could bring him Thur/Fri if they had enough room, no biggie if not, they said yes. Well thursday didnt happed cause of the snow, but I took him on Friday. Its early years. They have a few programs...when we get there in the morning a group of kids are walked down the hall and then Maximus' class goes in. On Friday all the kids in the groups were in the same room, when I picked him up at 11:30 the all day kids were eating lunch.
So....if it works for them they can serve food and not offer it to him...as I doubt they would give him someones personal lunch. Not a big deal though. I completely love the day care and dont want to put them in any risk situation over something we only deal with twice during the school year.

I could pick him up before snack though!! It means he'd only be there for an hour but thats better then nothing ;)

oh wow, i didnt realize i was so late on this topic! im really sorry! glad you have the results back and things are good! 22 months cancer free is friggin AWESOME! i know you'll always worry - but man, 2 years... that's huge! your son sounds like a strong, brave little boy -- im sure his attitude and personality has played a part in his kickin' cancers' butt.

No no, youre not late. I posted this out of boredom, not when it happened.

Yes, I am more then pleased 22 months is a HUGE milestone. He is a very special amazing little man thats for sure

so smurffy that babies and kids get cancer... ugh, i hate it -- its not fair at ALL. but then again, life isnt fair... it just makes me really really sad :-( so glad he's doing well!

Yes, its a horrible world to be brought into. Very very sad.

At the cancer retreat this year a women called her experience with her son a 'beautiful disaster" and i couldnt agree more. Our lives are forever changed and we are actually thankful for having our eyes and hearts opened. I feel extremely blessed to be his mom.

My daughter has epilepsy and we also have to take her in for scans. I take half days from work and so does Dad so we are with her. Here you are required to feed the children and I know that if I asked my doctor for a note like that he would give me a crazy look

You're daughter is sedated and they have her eat before hand? I have never ever known a child who can eat before sedation, way too dangerous. Sorry, but something doesnt sound right here.

I dont ask the doctor, every 4 months we get a notice in the mail with his name and the rules and guildlines for CT scan stating the fasting hours.

I meant the daycare is required to feed her. Poor wording on my part. I think it would be really mean to expect my child to watch the other kids eat while she is unable to. I think even with a doctor's note the daycare would deny it because licensing states you just feed the child.
