Wait will the other kids be eating while he's there? If so then I'd think it'd be better to keep him home and if you need to eat sneak it in another room.

My son has had to be sedated MANY times, and when he has to be I go on the fast WITH him. I couldn't imagine sitting there eating while he's hungry.

Probably because it's unfair for him to be there watching all the other kids eat. He will be crying and fussy and a daycare probably also doesn't want to deal with that.

This is also very true. If your son got food at daycare, and something happened while he was sedated because of the food in his stomach, the daycare would be liable.

Let me tell you though, the day sucks in a million ways....this is apart of his life and he will always be different, not eating one day while the others are, is not nearly as sad or smurfed up as it may seem. I hear you, but its not even in the top 10 of smurffy things that day lol.

I totally see it as daycare covering their asses. And I totally understand why.

And of course hes better off with me and my cuddles, but you have to know how effed up I am on those days that honestly, I probably make it even worse for him cause of my stress. My sister always comes with me, and niether of us eat all day cause we cant out of guilt, so that adds to the crap of the day.

The daycare tells me how he never wants snack lol.

We did that too when my kids had surgeries and whatnot.

Why are they so late in the day? I mean that right there is kind of cruel ( I know it's not your doing lol).

My son goes in for like his 4th or 5th MRI next month and I schedule it for AS early in the morning AS possible, so he doesn't have to sit there starving all damn day.

That is really difficult sounding. I wouldn't know what I'd be like if I had to make my child fast.

I mean, don't get me wrong it SUCKS. Especially when they can't even drink water past midnight.. And I'm a HUGE grump ass, so we are just grumpy together.  .

ugh...I hear you mama!! This has been our biggest fight since day one (3 years ago).
They do adults in the morning. And sedate kids in the morning for MRI. So the CT kids get sedation in the afternoon. And this is a childrens hospital, a really great one too in a huge city!
All the staff agrees with us that this is wrong. But there is nothing any of us can do, so we live with it.

Wow my son had to get put under anesthesia this morning for the first time and they put him right in at 7am. They said they go by age, youngest first because it's so hard to keep little kids from eating
