My little baby boy....

posted 27th Dec
Is eating solids!! He's only 15 weeks old! He started showing an interest in food ie. trying to grab my food when I was eating. And he was waking every two hours during the night to be fed... So he was getting overtired and grumpy as was I.
So I was like.. Hey why not give it a go, if it doesn't work then whatever.
He ate avocado and loved it- all smiles. So he eats two soilds meals a day at the moment - one for dinner. And every other feed is a breast feed.
So now he eats avocado, banana and carrot.
And we always wash it down with a breast feed after.

Woowwww

That is an incredibly bad idea.

That is way too young for solids, imo. But you do what you want with your baby.

He wanted it.
It fills him up.
He is happy.
And he is still breast fed.
Do you mind just being happy that he is happy?

Um yah they don't recommend that till 6 months. But I'm sure you know better than a baby nutritionist.

It doesn't give him any nutrients that breastmilk doesn't and the digestion of a 3 1/2 month old is not ready for regular food. Your basically filling him up uselessly. If he's still hungry, feed him more breastmilk - ALL babies show interest in table foods, your putting something in your mouth and he's curious - that doesn't mean his body is ready to digest that stuff or that it gives him anything that breastmilk doesn't provide.

This is how obesity starts... Unnecessary calories at way too young of an age.

But hey, at least he's not choking on it.
Good luck, OP.

He's loving it. I mash it all to a complete pulp cause clearly he doesn't have teeth to chew, and I'm using fresh produce so it doesn't have all the preservatives that are in the supermarket foods. And I only give him tiny amounts at a time.

I wouldn't do it, but then again I didn't give solids till my second was close to a year.

Glad it's going well for you guys!

He is way too young, hopefully it doesn't smurf up his digestive system
And I doubt he wanted it, at three months my kid couldn't tell me what she wanted.

Doesn't have to do with teeth. It has to do with his digestive track not being developed enough or having enough cultures in it to properly digest everything.

Omg. Haha get over yourselves. he eats about two teaspoons. Vegetables and fruit obviously have a lot of vitamins and minerals.
And I'm pretty sure veggies and fruit Never made anyone obese. Wth.
And if he couldn't digest it he wouldn't be still doing poops.
And my health nurse said it was okay.
