That insurance will cover, I'm sorry. In certain states the government mandates that insurance cover infertility. Like CA, MA, TX and 2 others that I can't think off the top of my head. In the other states insurance companies aren't mandated by the states to cover it.

but wouldn't that then require medicaid to cover it? which technically is the state and taxpayers...

Why should they cover it? It's an elective procedure

Insurance is for medical problems and complications. If this passes, it will open the door for everything to be covered (boobs jobs, botox, any kind of non essential procedure)

and I don't mean to sound callous to the ladies who need to concieve via artificial means. I just don't think that insurance companies should be REQUIRED BY LAW to cover it.

I mean, if they want to cover it, then by all means, go ahead.
