Gentian Violet for thrush?

Anyone ever use it on their infant? I took antibiotics and the pedi is pretty sure that's why the baby has mild thrush. Did it help?

It helped tremendously for my daughter and I. We tried everything that the doctor prescribed and it continued on. I tried GV at the pedi's suggestion and we were thrush free within a few days, symptom free in a matter of hours. Just be prepared for the purple staining.

Baby will have a super stained mouth/face for a while... but it works wonderfully. I definitely recommend it.

I dipped a q-tip in it and swabbed her mouth twice a day and as needed if she was struggling at a particular feed.

It worked for DS. We used it twice a day for 3 days but I have internal thrush so I have to get a prescription for diflucan

I used Oxy clean from the blue spray bottle on the purple staining.. Let it soak it overnight and the purple staining will disappear! It worked amazing for my son, within 2 days *second time trying it* It was pretty much gone!

It was the only thing that helped my son. even the meds that the doctors gave him for it didnt work!

Gentian violet can cause cancer. I used grapefruit seed extract in her mouth and on my nipples. Much safer and less messy.
