You're still validating her fears that something is there and coming to get her.

I ould never think that something paranornal was going on. Kids have great imaginations and can think of anything, even things you wouldn't think they'd know anything about.

Just because you don't believe in it does not mean it doesn't exist. Many people don't believe in God and that does not mean he doesn't exist.

There is no reason for her to make this stuff up. The thing she's says scares the hell out of me.

But you confirming that there is something out there to get her is feeding into her fears.

If you denied it, and found the logical explaination for everything, I bet her fears would be lessened.

When she wakes up screaming and you assume it's paranormal, that is damaging to her.

I never talk about this sort of thing in front of her, I'm not an idiot. Only time I have discussed it was with my mom while she was sleeping after about a week of her waking me up to this crap. At first I thought she may just be seeing the spirit of my grandma who passed because the first time this happened she described what she saw as a "big nana" (nana is my mom, her grandma) she was playing in the living room and saw the Christmas ornament of my grandma and papa that said "merry Christmas in heaven" and said "mommy thats the ghost" so I shrugged it off as my grandma until she became terrified of it

DD says some scary things at night time, but it's her imagination. I don't egg her on, I tell her to knock it off and that monsters don't exist. Do you think she'd ever sleep again if I went into her room with a bible screaming leave us alone? Lol

Kids say a lot of things. It's their imagination. Hell, I used to think the dolls in my room came to life at night and were trying to kill me. I have those dolls now and they just sit there pretty. lol.

She also feeds off your energy, too. If she says something and sees you are freaking out about it, of course she will continue!

You're nuts.

I will be 100% honest with you... my dad was a pastor for a long time and if anyone called and left a message asking for someone to come bless this your house because they though there was ghosts in it, we would think they are nuts.

I don't know if some churches specialize in paranormal activity, but I've gone to a lot and none I know would ever go and do that. They don't encourage that type of behaviour.

She wasnt in the room. A few months ago she watched casper the friendly ghost at her cousins house. I told her tonight that it was Casper andh e's friendly trying to calm her fears and she said "no mommy this one is scary he's not my friend" How am I supposed to not be worried? of course I put on a brave face for her and told her that there is nothign to worry about, that mommy's job is to keep her safe and that she is perfectly safe here.

I believe in the paranormal, from my own personal experience....a few of them actually.
But what you did was a tad overboard. She is going to feed off your fear. She sees that mommy is scared, she'll be scared
I would've told her everything is fine, let's go back to bed & I would've shut her door & left it at that.
Kids do have very strong, vivid imaginations. They also are more prone to paranormal activities. Comforting her outside of her room would've been best.

Call your local church and have the pastor or priest bless you house....without your daughter there.

Could there be an object in her room it's feeding off of? IF it really is something paranormal? Do some research on your house too. That could possibly give you some answers as to IF it's really being bothered by a spirit.

Nope... asked her about "stinky stretch and fatso" I kick myself in the ass for her dad letting her watch that with her 4 year old cousin.. but it was weeks before she started with this and at that point they weren't "ghosts" she was calling them "shadow people" I had to let her take hre flashlight to bed with her to make her feel better, and she sleeps in my bed.

I've heard of people catching orbs on camera (or ghosts) So I took a picture of the corner of our room. Sorry for all of the clothes, they;re all her outgrown clothes or stuff I bought to sell but I haven't had the time:

I'd like to hear from the naysayers a logical explanation as to how my dresser drawers open and shut before my own eyes in my bedroom.

And how one night when comforting my son after seeing "the guy", Jack's toy piano flung 10 feet across the room at my husband when he said "Don't worry, there's no one in here"

Sidenote: I was in love with some Devon Sawa after I saw Casper for the first time back in 90's..

Like I said twice before.. she was not in the room when I did that.. I handed her to my sister outside of my bedroom.
