not sure what to do

My kids father has not kept them overnight in more than 6 weeks. he has seen them an hour here and there, and i dont want him to keep coming in and out of their lives like that. I feel like telling him we either have to make a schedule where he takes them one or two days every week or stays out of their lives completely. I dont want them growing up without a dad but i also dont want my sons to get dissapointed when their dad doesnt come to visit them. Has anyone else been in this situation and what did you do? I just want to do the right thing for my kids.

Make a schedule anyway...children need stability.

I am gonna try and make one and see how it goes. He acts like their a bother to him sometimes and i dont ever want my kids to feel like their a bother to anyone. He was suppose to come get them friday and instead he decided to go out with his friends and said he needed a day to hang out and have fun. That really is what pissed me off
