On Thursday, December 20th, I went to L&D at 6am for my scheduled C-Section. The nurse started my IV and I had to wait in my room until my doctor got there and the OR was ready to go. The anesthesiologist came in to chat with me about what was going to happen, and he was really weird lol. He would just like gaze at me and touch my feet. *creepy* Anyways, everything was ready to go around 7:30ish so we went to the OR room. I was getting scared, and started to kind of freak out. They turned on some music in the room while I was getting my spinal block. It hurt like hell to get that.. and as soon as it was in my back I started to feel my legs go numb and I started to get scared and felt like I couldn't breathe. (I have asthma) I started to puff on my inhaler but it wasn't helping, and by then I was crying because I was scared. They put a breathing mask on me and finally my mom was able to come into the room and I started to relax. I didn't feel much during the procedure; the tugging and pulling wasn't even very bad. I don't even think 10 minutes passed when the doctor told me my daughter was about ready to be born. She told me she had a lot of hair and she pulled her out. I heard her say "Oh she has a necklace", meaning the cord was around her neck. I heard her cry and I started to cry
My doctor was so awesome, she was talking to me and telling stories while she was putting me back together so I would stay relaxed. Meanwhile, my mom got to "trim" the cord.
Emmalyn Grace was born on December 20 at 8:10am weighing 7lbs 8oz and 19 1/2 inches long.
