wtf?

Ive heard of people getting reoccurring yeast infections with birth control but wondering how often it happens? Is there a certain one that has a smaller chance?

What about diabetes causing yeast infections?

Started levlen 15 days ago. To stop my periods except for every 12 weeks. 3 days in got a yeast infection. 7 day monistat didn't do it so ended up having my dr call in the 1 time pill. 2 days later i was symptom free. Made it 2 days and i have another. I've had one 1/2 other times as a teen.

I'm going in tomorrow but the nurse tried to say well maybe you have diabetes. I was checked in june and since then ive lost 35lbs and have no signs of it.

What are your experiences??

Never had a problem like that on BC.

I don't know about the birth control causing them but I do know my MIL has diabetes and she has been fighting a yeast infection going on a year now and nothing is clearing it up completely. She has pills, creams, you name it she has tried it. Her dr just keeps giving her different meds but none of it is working to clear it up

Could it be because of the BC combined with sex and change in either using a condom or no condom? The difference might affect PH balance or something?

I always get BV when I go on medications because it throws off your internal balance of bacteria. If you start taking a probiotic vitamin it should help out a lot. I haven't had one in months since starting vitamins

Weve been having more sex over the last few months but no spike in like the week before.

We never use condoms and ive not used any new soaps or detergents.

Im really puzzled.

What does probiotic help with?

I've never had those symptoms from birth control but I do have a friend who had horrible recurring yeast infections due to PH imbalance and being sexually active didn't help

She was put on suppositories that made her life miserable and the only thing that helped her was the antibiotic pills. She was visiting with us recently, and I saw her take prebiotic pills, too - she said it was prophylactic, but helped.

I suggest you talk to your doc about antibiotics if the monistat doesn't help

I've used the monistat 1 before, and ZOMG, it is hell - it made thing 100% worse. In the end I had to take 1 prescription pill, and used a PH balance wash to help

Thanks hon. I've never had issues until i started the bc so i figured it was the most likely cause. Im calling at 8am when they open.

Probiotics restore the natural balance of bacteria in your stomach. It's good for me because I don't eat a lot of yoghurt or things that contain active cultures. I should but it take so much effort  

I just recently started getting them. Like I got 2 in the last 6 months or so. And I think I feel another coming now but I know why.
I agree with the probiotics. You can eat tons of yogurt or get it in pill form, that's what I do.
