Yes breast feeding is good, but I have also seen in many cases parents who have breast fed their kids up until age 2 and those children turned out to not be any smarter or healthier than ones who weren't even breast fed at all. Yes it helps but doesn't always make a huge difference. And the ERF, my boyfriend has many degrees in the automotive field and knows exactly what happens in a car crash. I told him about it and he says that it depends on how the car is hit, how much of an impact the car takes on. In certain situations, rear facing will not make a difference whatsoever.

I have DD juice at 6 weeks because she was constipated and her doctor said to. He told me 2 oz. uncut 100% pear or apple baby juice. I don't really see anything wrong with it if its just a little and it's ok with your doctor. Other than that DD was breastfed with no solids till 6 months. I cloth diaper. Doesn't make me a hippie textbook parent. We cosleep and vaccinate. You can pick and choose what you do with your child. That's why you're their parent and not someone else. If you are freaking about it call your pedi and ask.

I don't think just because you do certain things like cloth diapering that you're a hippie, I was just giving that one person smurf because of what she said to me. I really don't care how people parent, I was trying to defend myself for not going by every single thing that's in the books, I pick and choose as well and will do what I think is best. But I get smurf for that because a lot of people believe only by the books and god forbid you have your own parenting style.

I'm not trying to put people down for what they do, I just don't want people putting me down. And I'm not against any of that, I eat some organic food and some regular food, and will feed my baby some organic food and regular food,I will breast feed probably only for a few months only because it'll be too difficult once I'm back at work, but if I was a SAHM then I would breast feed for the first year. And I'll rear face my child up until a year and half or two years. I don't want to vaccinate my child but I'm going to have to for daycare regulations.

I am in no way putting you down, but my step son's mother did what you are talking about doing with food. Solids very young and juice and all that way too young and now he have digestive problems and is severely obese for his age. His Dr told me that once we have permanent custody of him, which we will in July, he needs to be on a special nutritional diet to help balance everything out. And I have gotten a second opinion on this. Both the doctors told me that it was because he was given solids before his body was able to regulate certain hormones on its own. So in experience it is best to wait as long as possible.

I'm sorry to hear about your step son. I plan on waiting on solids until 6 months and I doubt I'll be giving my baby water or juice before then as well. I know people who put baby cereal in their babies bottle like from day one, which I'm not going to do because its not necessary. I do believe babies don't need anything more than breast milk, or formula for the first 6 months, but then there's some parents who are still giving them baby cereal at like 16 months and haven't started real food yet. And by doing this I've seen kids ending up not eating anything because they weren't introduced early enough (by like a year)

See I personally am going to skip baby food. I think it delayed my daughter in being able to handle silverware, but I am gonna wait as long as possible. If baby isn't ready til a year then he isn't ready.

Everyone has their own parenting style not just you. And you kinda were lumping everyone who cloth diapers and cosleeps and believes strongly about some things together. Most of these things your talking about doing you'll change your mind about multiple times. I thought cloth diapering was the weirdest thing and I would never do it! I changed my mind and I love it. But honestly it's your kid I'm not going to lump you into any groups or anything else, there are still some parents out there that believe you can raise your child differently from us and still have an amazing child and be an awesome parent.
