healthy weight / treadmill

So I'm 5'8 ...medium-large build ... I've always had broad shoulders, big boobs and butt...what would a healthy weight range be? I bought a treadmill today. Time to get serious about losing weight. Any treadmill workouts that you like? How long did it take you to lose weight?

Not to be a negative nancy but i hated my treadmill. Using it combined with tracking my calories was aggrivating because it seemed like you had to walk/run forever to burn a significant amount of calories.. and it hurt my knees. Love my elliptical though. Good luck with the treadmill! Id say 150 maybe? but you could look up your healthy weight range.

From what you say I would think 140-160 would be optimal. I have a nortrac treadmill or whatever, it came with some preloaded workouts that I do. Make sure you do some weight training as well! Best of luck!

I would say between 140-150 for 5'8" is a healthy weight. I loved to do the interval training on the treadmill. When I had to lose weight PP, I ate about 1200 calories a day, never ate anything past 5pm, kept my carb intake on the low side, jogged/walked 4 miles a day 5 days a week. Took about 6 weeks to get back to "normal"... although I still feel I don;t think I look the same as I did before pregnancy.... even though I am the same weight. Smurf shifted lol.

I'm 5'9 med built and my "healthy weight range" is 130-160. Idk if that helps lol. As for the workout, I do the "sprint 8" workout on the elliptical, but you can do the same thing on the treadmill. It's 4 minutes of warm up, 90 seconds low intensity, 30 seconds high intensity, switching back and forth as long as you'd like and then cool down 4 minutes.
ETA: idk if the treadmill has workout settings, but I set my elliptical to "random" so it will change up and down, and I switch from level 25 to 10 (high intensity, low intensity).

5'8 I would say 155-160. I'm 5'41/2 and weight 130 and everyone says I look great at 130 although I would love to be in between 120-125.
I've never owned a treadmill but I love my elliptical that I have.

Thanks ladies. I needed something in the house to help kick start the weight loss. We are down to only one car right now making getting the gym hard! Pretty sure the new treadmill will have some workouts on it. I have to kick myself to be consistent!!

I was always more motivated when i made a workout playlist. Turned on my mp3 player and tuned out the world (when possible of course) and was in my own little world for the whole workout.
