is there ANYTHING

any ideas to help jump start labor? like anything that worked for anybody? Im 40w1d and my induction date is 1/02/2013 but i really want her our before then if i can. AND I DONT WANT TO HEAR SHE'LL COME WHEN SHES READY. i know that some babies will come when their ready but i at least want some things to TRY to induce labor. dr said shes low enough for labor to start i just havent dilated anymore.

anything would be helpful at least to try.

I've tried it all and so far the most effective things for me have been rocking on a rocking chair, bouncing on exercise ball, nipple stimulation, and that is about it. I am overdue 6 days tomorrow and no signs of going into actual labor, but those things give me pretty regular contractions for a while. It is so annoying to hear that the baby will come when he/she is ready, I totally know how you feel. I don't have an induction date or anything, but I've heard a lot of stories of women going into labor because they finally knew when their babies were going to come, so they relaxed the night before the induction.
