Post Partum scent :/ tmi

posted 26th Dec
I'm almost 3 weeks PP & was wondering what you guys did/do to keep "fresh" down there? It just smells funky :/ I shower daily & change my pad everytime I use the washroom but I still have that weird scent. Is it safe to use powders/baby wipes of feminine wipes? I had an episiotomy so I also don't want to irritate anything. It's just really embarrassing

don't use anything scented. Nothing you can really do but change pads frequently and use your spray bottle.

I know what you mean! I felt so disgusting!

I don't think you're supposed to use anything when you have tears or anything because it can get into them and irritate. Maybe it's paranoia and not actually as strong as you think? I had an emergency c-section and didn't want to irritate my incision so I was washing with antibacterial soap but still managed to get an infection. Maybe just keep as clean as possible with water and wear scented pads?

I wouldn't use anything but water until 6 weeks pp. I know what your talking about and I just used a squirt bottle every time I changed my pad or peed. Best I could do really besides shower and stay kinda "ventilated" if you know what I mean lol

That depends on the woman. I only had heavy bleeding for a week with both of my deliveries and then it startd to get better, but some woman say it takes 3 to 4w if not longer..

Does it smell like stinky cheese? If so I guess it's supposed to smell that way? It's been kind of worrying me because I've never had that smell before.
