That's basically saying you wouldn't let your son be friends with someone who has the same name as him...

My bestie and i are pregnant at the same time as well.. before we got pregnant we both shared the names we loved and just so happened we had the same boy name picked. so i picked a new one.. she mentioned that the new one was on the list, i was sorta annoyed but i know that she will end up using the first lol but either way ill pop before she will lol i don't tell anyone baby names until i pop the little crotch critter out.. i kept my sons name secret til the day he was born.. i had the issue once that a girl in a forum i was in couldnt pick a name for nothing. the week after my stillborn baby was born she miraculously figured out a name that was "perfect, and not too common" just so happened to be my babies name.. so i was pissed about that, but sorta different circumstances.. i understand though that youre always gonna meet or know someone who has the same name as your child.. there are only so many names and lots of kiddies being born. if you absolutely love it, tell her.. if she's your bestfriend then she will understand. maybe help her find a name she likes as well.

Honestly that would annoy me too lol I would try to search for a better boy name then whatever one you like OR you could help suggest other boy names to he.

If I wouldn't have told her the name and she just came up with it on her own I mean I'd still be upset but I wouldn't be as upset. And I was talking about when they're babies. Our kids will and are growing up together and I'd hate to have a play date and say Parker and have her son look and I have to be like no not you and confuse the poor kid when he's just learning his name.. But now they're thinking about going with Tristan instead. I told her it'd be better if we just waited till we both knew what we were having to talk about using the boy name cause if I'm having a girl and she's having a boy I don't really have any choice then to say yeah go ahead use the name cause I don't own it but if we're both having boys then I honestly just couldn't do it and SO and I don't both like any other boy names We've had this name picked for almost 4 years now.

Something similar happened to me...not with a best friend but a regular friend. She was preg about 4 yrs before me, and she asked me what names I liked. I told her I LOVED Arianna. Well, her daughter is now Arianna...and my daughter (4 yrs later) born in March will be Arianna also. My boyfriend was PISSED but I don't mind so much.

That's jut ridiculous. Also, you could still encounter the same problem with your son having the same name as another child (even when they're younger).

Your child is not going to be the only Parker in the world so you cannot be upset when you come across another, no matter their age.

Chances are, if you guys are all really good friends and you have a boy first, and name him Parker, they aren't gonna be like oh we're gonna name our boy Parker too. Cuz that would be dumb... On their part... To name your kid the same thing as you lol

I named my son Jasper and a mate was pregnant and had picked a name then we were talking about jasper one day and all her friends were saying it was a cute name so she named him jasper and gave him two middle names.
Im over it now but i was angry.
