Single Parenting /= Legal/Custody

Why isn't there a separate forum?

No need.

Everyone has their own definition of single parent. I you split time 50/50 with someone or have the weekends etc I don't really consider that single parenting. To each their own.

Don't know... I try and talk to mommas whenever I see a topic concerning it....

I agree- there should be a separate forum! It's a delicate issue.

i consider this single parenting forum to have anything to do with custody,cs, dating,step parenting, coparenting, being completely alone, moving on and starting a new relationship with someone other then the birth father, etc

single parent is a parent who is single. it's not defined by your criteria. I have fifty percent custody. I get no child support, and when I have my kids, no help from their father. that doesn't make me less of a single parent. my complications just may be different than yours

I keep coming back to this.. hoping you'd respond. I'm highly offended by this statement. I'm MUCH MUCH MUCH rather deal with parenting my children without a break than the heart break of living HALF their life without my babies. We all have our own issues with custody, parenting, finances... that come with being a single parent. Even if someone gets remarried.... I'm still ok with them posting here..because then they're dealing with blended families, discipline with a step parent, finances with kids involved etc....

who are you to decide who is and who is not a single parent?

I hear you. I thought I'd be happier if the ex had wanted to be in LO's life but now here he is again and I just want him to go away. Right now we are just doing supervised visitation (we agree that it's best) while LO gets to know him again, but I'm dreading the day I have to turn him over. Having to give up half your time...just wow. How tough.

plus dealing with differences in parenting styles, and the other parent trying to make you (generalized you) look bad.

like... ha.. my oldest told me his dad was MAD that I bought him a kindle fire for christmas. WTF? not out of his account. said it was "too expensive"

I buy passes to amusement parks to ahve fun WITH my kids.. he told them it's a waste of money. yea... but his hunting, paintball, car rebuilds aren't? I'd rather spend money on my kids than my own hobies
