Quoting KayMay ♥:" Yeah I hear ya, we were in KY/TN for a few years than GA/AL.. We were hoping to go somewhere with a ... [snip!] ... I hope you guys end up somewhere good. They won't let your DH stay on rear D for a month or so until after the baby is born??"
No they won't let him stay back. There is a non-deployable unit on our post that he has an interview with the 1st SGT on Monday morning. It will be nice for him to get into that unit, but we will have to stay here another 3 years if he gets in. IDK what is worse him deploying for 9 months and then us leaving the frozen tundra, or him staying home and living here for 3 years. We have already been here for 5 years, so I feel like we are losing out on the full Army experience for staying here for the long term. The upside of staying here though is I have a really good paying job with the school district, and we bought a house our first year here so we'll have almost 10 years into our house when we go.
