That sucks! Sorry mama

I'm actually starting to think about looking for an OB off base. I have insurance through my job and that is the first billed so i'm not sure if the military insurance would pick up after that or not. I know i'd get a more personal experience/ probably more of a give a smurf from the doctors than on base. I often feel that on base they treat the PG women like a revolving door because pregnancy on base is such a common thing, that it is more of like OMG another one type experience than of im happy for you type deal. My only issue is i really want to deliver on base because the base hospital is soooooo much nicer than the city hospital lol. so basically I want my cake and eat it too! Is that too much to ask?

hey!
I had my ultrasound this afternoon!
baby is measuring exactly 9 weeks putting my EDD as sept 2nd, not the 5th.
I had to do the u/s at the hospital since my insurance doesn't pay for the OBs office to do it (so frustrating) so they are faxing everything to my doctor to see, then I'll call them, or they will call me.
such an awesome feeling seeing baby and the little flicker <3
DS was excited (:
I got a piece of film for the picture so I'll try and scan it or something tomorrow..

just had to share, goodnight for now (:

I'm not 100% sure how much they cover. I've never had to pay anything out of pocket since I have 2 forms of insurance. Usually whatever mine does not pay my husband's picks up the rest. I'd have to find out if the military insurance will pick up the left over off base.

When I was PG with DS they only did one ultrasound the entire time at 19 weeks, and I felt so cheated not having more than that. I just want to have a closer relationship w/ this pregnancy because it is going to be my last. DH and I agreed 2 and that is it no matter if it is a girl or boy.

If you switch to standard you can go off base and all of your pregnancy care will be covered other than your hospital which I think is like 16 dollars a day or something. Anything other than pregnancy, tricare standard would become your primary, you would have a 15-20% copayment and depending on your other health insurance they should cover that 15-20% which would make it no cost to you anyway. You could probably get the other insurance to cover your hospital stay also. I was just looking into this lol

I don't but everything tastes weird and it doesn't matter how much fluids I chug all day long I always am thirsty. Bad dry mouth.

Exactly the same for me. I wake up feeling like I've been eating sand all day. Horrible, horrible dry mouth and the most awful taste with it. And I'm not really nauseous during the day but NOTHING tastes or sounds good.
