the bf suggested that but we were afraid what it would do to her system. just an ounce right?

We gave my son a little bit of prune juice...like an ounce. You can also give her a glycerin suppository.

Is she formula fed? If so, I would try switching formulas.

This may sound gross but take one of.them booger sucker.bulbs put some Luke warm.water.in it and.squirt some up.her but and.hold her cheeks together , don't worry it won't hurt her its.just an enema.but it will soften the poop , or take a themometer put some p.jelly on the end of it stick very tip in her bottom and swivel it around.in circles it should make.her.want to.go , sometimes you have to.dig it out.:-(. There are also baby dispositories at Walmart try those , try switching formula also or give more water and juice

Had to do that with my son when he was that age.

Yeah, mine got really constipated when we switched from breastfeeding to formula. He was like 5 months old at that time, though.

For some babies (especially formula fed) it's normal to go a couple days between bowel movements. So unless she's gone for longer than normal (whatever normal is for her), I would leave it alone. But if you're sure she's constipated, all the above suggestions are good. I would try the vaseline and thermometer first...sometimes that stimulates them to poop.

We did the thermometer trick, it helps only a little bit..like she will go once and its almost tar like..instead of the normal peanut butter. we're probably gonna switch her formula cuz this is the first this has ever happened but it could have been building up over time

If it's that dark in color it's probably from the iron. I would definitely switch to a different formula.

Give her ab an ounce of watered down baby apple juice. It should help break it all up.

ok we'll try the apple juice. the boyfriend is going to the store now. thankfully we have an infant carrier to keep her moving since it seems to keep her calm.
