How long

How long did it take for you to go into labor. im only having braxton hicks. I'm 4cm 80% effaced now....just wondering if i should have my daughters father pick her up now or just keep waiting it out

I would wait it out, if you're just having Braxton hicks and not real contractions then most likely labor isn't happening real soon.

no they didnt admit me cause my contractions arent consistent.

I was dilated to 4 for 5 months with my last baby (3rd child) and was fine, a infection can happen if your water has broken and you go for days with out labor or treatment  

oh, just worried cause her dad lives an hour away and it just has to be the opposite way of which i would have to travel to the hospital!

Not if her water hasn't broken. They won't admit her if she's not in active labor, there's no point.

No an infection can happen either way , it happened to me with The last baby . Have they talked to.you about induce ??

ya, they were going to induce me on the 18th which is why my due date says the 18th but im technically not due till the 25th. But they have diagnosed me with GD, preclampsia, and i have pulmonary embolisms, so they said after 32 weeks they would not stop my labor. I want to do this naturally cause i was induced with both my other children.

That is probably because your doctor didn't sanitize properly before doing a internal exam or you had sex.

An infection can happen at any time, but it's significantly less likely if her water hasn't broken. Lots of women walk around 4 cm dilated for days or weeks. She's not due until January 18th, so they shouldn't be talking induction.

Being dilated to a four is not reason enough to induce her all of the sudden :S

Apparently bacteria got up there some how if your water was not broken ;)
