crawling/pulling self up..

posted 26th Dec
How old was your LO when he/she started to crawl or pull his/herself up? My son will be 10months on the 3rd and won't pull himself up or crawl. He will sit on the floor, scoot a little bit, turn himself around, and roll around but he won't crawl. if he's on his tummy, i try to help push his knees and butt up so he's in the position but he gets mad and throws a fit. He also isn't pulling himself up yet. He will put his hands on your knees or on the couch/chair but he won't pull up. i kinda worry about it, but then i tell myself it's not a big deal because he's probably just lazy and my best friend (older than i am) has 5 kids and her two boys both walked late (between 13-18months). So i tell myself he's just lazy, but i still worry about it.

All babies develop at different stages. My DD was crawling at 6 months and standing at 7. If you're concerned about it, ask your LO's pedi about it? My DD's pedi tends to tell me where my DD should be development-wise based on her age.

He actually had his 9 month check up a few weeks ago and she said he was developing fine but said the same thing i said, that he's probably just a little lazy and i'm not sure if she said anything about him being a "big boy" had something to do with it or not because he's 23 lbs 10 oz so he's a bit above average. & he's about 2 1/2 ft long so idk if that would have anything to do with it.

DD is 10.5 months and been crawling a while.

She can't pull herself up yet or stand at all. I don't mind at all tho. Cause she is more developed in other areas.

Like eating with a spoon. Only having a Dippy cup. Sleeps all night, plays Patty cake can throw and roll a ball on telling her to. She waves and gives and blow s kisses.

So it don't bother me that she does not pull up yet. All develope differently lol

My son waves too !   lol. & he is also developed in other areas like eating and drinking from a sippy cup, he just learned to bounce up and down like he's dancing, and a few other things. so i guess the whole crawling thing isn't a big deal as long as he's getting around and isn't showing any signs of not being able to use his legs or not developing as much as he should.

She stood up for the first time 2 days ago...lol but will only pull herself up in her crib, its a start tho. I was excited.

What I do know is sit on the floor in the room and let her pull herself up in the crib and bounce around a bit like 30 min or so. I read to her and sing and she just bounces on her feet.
I bought her a walker toy for christmas, and if I hold it (the wheels move to much) and sit behind her she will now stand and hold onto it, so lo's time will come soon. But really once they start they dont stop, so hold onto it while you can. lol
