I am way late posting this but here it is!
The day of my due date (November 28th) I was having some slight cramping but nothing that made me think I was going into labor. I went to bed that night thinking I would have to be induced (I was scheduled for that on December 5th) but to my surprise at 3am on November 29th I woke up to a warm, wet bed. I woke up James (my boyfriend/Landon's Dad) and told him "I think my water just broke" He jumped out of bed and started getting everything together while I went to the bathroom to clean myself up and put a pad on. I hadn't even packed my hospital bag yet so James was running around getting together everything he could think of. I got to the ER at 4am and waited to be wheeled off to L&D. I was admitted to my room and about 30 minutes later I started having contractions that were about 10 minutes apart. As time went on they got stronger and closer together. About 2 hours in I was checked for dilation and was only at a 2 1/2, I was so disappointed. I went about 10 hours with no medication and contractions that were 3 minutes apart and finally asked for some sort of pain medicine. I got an shot through my IV of some sort of medicine which only helped me for about 15 minutes. I tried to go longer but finally decided to get the epidural. That was such a relief. By then it was about 4pm. At around 6pm I was starting to feel a ton of pressure and was checked for dilation for a second time. I was 7cm. Not even an hour later I told my nurse I needed to push, she didn't believe me but checked me anyway. I was at 9cm, close to 10cm. At about 7pm I began to push and at 8:06pm on November 29th, 2012 Landon Alexander was born weighing 8lbs 8oz, 20 1/2 inches long and absolutely perfect! We were both released from the hospital on December 1st.
Landon is now almost a month old and has been such a perfect baby. He is so mellow and I love watching him grow and change everyday.
Thank you for reading!
