I dont think there is much more I can do. Seems like she has made up her mind. I just hope nothing worst happens to y niece.
Im just glad that there are other ppl that seem to agree that stopping medical treatment isnt the best option, seems like every time she post about it on facebook she gets support.

From what you wrote, it sounds terrible and irresponsible.
BUT, we haven't been there when she is with the docs. I'm assuming she has been to multiple specialists at prestigious places. If that has happened and nobody has a solution, it COULD be that more than one doc has told her that there isn't anything that can be done from a medical point of view.
I am giving he r the benefit of the doubt but I don't know that she deserves it or not.

She has been to seen several specialist but all at the same children hospital which is really nice most people have to bounce around and stuff. The doctors havent told her there isnt anything they can do, they just dont know yet what stopped developing. So you think its reasonable for her to stop medical treatment?

No.
I'd be figuring out how i can get him in to see other docs from different places.
Perhaps she just needs a break and will resume her quest for a diagnosis and cure.

This. I seriously would hope the parent that thinks a higher power healed their kid or would lead them to the path of recovery would need their own head checked. I would NEVER stop treatment or stop trying to figure out what was wrong and put it in "Gods hands." To smurfing hell with that, thats neglectful.

K - first off I will say the Catholic faith has nothing to do with the prayer over Dr's approach. That would be a personal thing. My momma is as Catholic as they com e(as in daily mass each morning) and I've never heard such a thing come from a Catholic in all my life (and even Dh's side is Catholic too.) Everyone I know or have ever known who is Catholic sees Dr's when they are not well.

As far as your sis, maybe she is loosing her faith. Just like people can loose faith in church when they have put their belief in it & feel they've been shortchanged, maybe she had a ton of faith in Dr's & is disillusioned at getting nowhere. Instead of being angry with her & short, can you try being super sweet & offering to help her find a new Dr to get a 2nd opinion & then doing the research to help direct her where to go next? At 21 with 2 kids & a BF who is discouraging, it may be EXACTLY what she needs right now- someone to truly lean on a little.

Excellent points. I missed the part about her being only 21 with 2 kids and a BF who is a jerk.
The decision-making part of the human brain isn't fully developed until the early to mid-20s. It's hard to not be mad and judgemenatl, but what she really needs is help.

Oh yes.catholics are usually NOT the types to rely on prayer for medical intervention.

Thank you for posting, and sry for my very late response. Im sure all my sister needs is support from me and maybe some gudinece I just dont have it in me at this moment in time like very week she has a major flip out on me when all I do if offer love and support to her so Ive kind just stopped trying now I just vent privately like here lol. We are also like 4hrs away from eachother so it makes it a little bit harder for me to offer help with hospital related things. But maybe if a few weeks I can try again with her and feel more loving and calm..
