For all those who have lost a child.

posted 26th Dec
The holdays are an extremely hard time to go through without your LO. But just know that they are still very much here with you.

I personally haven't lost a child but my niece passed away on her 4th birthday December 22nd, 2009 and that void has never been and never will be filled.
Her mother and father cry for her daily and miss her every second of every day. My parents and I do too.

I was a little late doing this but I would love to wish all the LO's that aren't with us here a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday and know that we love them, miss them, and continuously think about them!

Feel free to post a photo of your angel baby,

Merry Christmas Irelynn Nevaeh!

I have not personally lost a child, but I am sooo sorry for your loss. It is so horrible when a child dies that young to cancer. RIP sweet angel.

I'm so sorry!

How are you holding up?

Suffering during this month hits home with a lot of people. It's really hard.

My mom is a pediatric hematology/oncology nurse, she works in the clinic giving the kids their chemo & stuff. I know she has seen a lot of kids pass away from cancer, idk how she does it.

She tells me that they are some of the most happy & cheerful kids. They don't know that what they have is such a debilitating disease and are as happy as can be. Where as when older people get cancer, they know what may come from it and feel down about it.

My mom has been in the room when a child has passed away from cancer, she said it is so unreal, like there is this eerie peacefulness about it....she told me being in that field of work, you have to believe in something because if you don't, you will be a wreck every day. She also has told me that when death no longer affects you, it is time to get out of that field...not sure of why she says that but she just goes by that.

It's SO weird that you said that because for a long time I wanted to be a pediatric oncologist (I have since switched my specialty to pathology) and I ALWAYS said he same thing you just said. The kids don't know how sick they really are and that and that alone is what gets them through it!
My niece ended up contracting valley fever and thats what ended up killing her but she obviously got it because her immune system had been completely shot to heck from the chemo.

I'm been keeping busy. DH doesn't like to think about it and having a 20 month old makes it easy to not let my mind wander to it.
Honestly though, I just have to keep telling myself that this happened for a reason. We weren't ready for another baby by any means and telling myself that kind of helps (as horrible as it sounds)

I'm sorry for you & your families loss

I miscarried on Christmas eve in 07, my first pregnancy. I JUST found out I was pregnant a couple days earlier, then I lost her (I say her because it's better than saying it).

I'm so sorry

I had read somewhere when I was pregnant (4.5 years ago!) that 50% of pregnancies end is miscarriage. And most of the time it's before the woman even knows she is pregnant. It said the body discards the pregnancy because something is genetically wrong with the embryo. Even so, if that IS true, it still sucks.
I'm sorry for your loss <3

I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason! It just simply wasn't the right time.
