snowstorm SO rant

well its snowing and me and SO have a comarro and it sucks in snow so he left this morning to go visit his mama like he does every godamn day 2 to 3 times a day and his mama wants to travle 2 hours away and since its snowing make it 4 so im on the phone with SO and im asking if hes coming home and shes bitching in the background because i called and it just pisses me off that he wont change 1 diper or give our 6 week old daughter a bath but when his mama needs anything hes right there shes perfectly able of driving herself we even bought her a car so she could do so but she still insist he drive her everywhere im about done and i hate to make him choose but since our daughter was born hes spent maybe a total of 2 hours with her and thats bullsmurf

As far as mother in law rants, I'd find a common ground to let it all slide off your shoulders. A girlfriend replaceable (no offence there), mothers are not. I was given that piece of advice from a psychologist on the topic of getting boyfriends/girlfriends to choose said girl/boyfriend first. It will never happen, so you might want to find a way to deal with how much he helps his mom that it wont stress you out. Not really worth the headache, ya know.

Sounds like you got yourself a mamas boy, and sorry hun, but he'll never put you first if you dont start to show him and teach him that now his life is about you and your daughter.

I agree with you that a girlfriend is replaceable and a mother isn't. I love when men help their mothers and take care of them. I think it sets the precedent for how your children will treat you. I can only hope my children would be kind enough to do those things for me when I am older. Afterall, I do everything for them now and will continue doing it as long as I possibly can. People really take their parents for granted, and don't realize it til they lose them. It sucks that he doesn't help you more though.

wow! thats bullsmurf. sounds just like my bestfriends relationship. her boyfriend goes home like 3-4 times a week and same thing its a super long drive.honestly though... i know the truth hurts but you cant change a guy. i had to learn that the hard way through life. you can threaten to leave them and i promise they will cry and change for a couple weeks but then their right back to the way they were. you either have to learn with it or give him the boot. I know it sounds harsh but if your that unhappy with the way things are and he's really like that then nothing is going to change except your going to grow to hate it more and more. I feel for you. I was with a smurf for 5 years, I couldnt stand the things he didnt and couldnt understand why he couldnt grow up and act his age. after countless times of actually leaving him and getting back together... i got sick of it. im so happy i did what i had to do. i was briefly friends with him on FB and saw he's still doing the same crap to his new girlfriend (this is 7 years later).
