No it's not.   It's my opinion, and I'm a gun owner.

What would you feel like if one of your neighbors said "I dont want to live there, they own a gun".... It's comments like that, that make gun owners look bad. It kind of sounded like you were scared of being around people with guns. Like all of them will go crazy and randomly shoot people. If anything, I would feel safer knowing there were that many people around to protect me and my family.

In general, it's a really nice area.
I live in a place with LOTS of guns. I'm glad.

I would be okay with it. I'd also be okay putting my name on a registry open to public. I feel absolutely no need to protect myself with a gun, and I don't care to jump through hoops to get a handgun permit... I have no use for it. I wouldn't feel safe being surrounded with guns, not that I'm afraid of people going crazy. I have a gun in my house, and I wouldn't even consider grabbing it if someone broke into my house. I don't understand the "safeness" people claim they feel when they have a gun, or are surrounded by them.

I've been there when I was 16, it wasn't too bad. Too city for my liking, but now I live in a town that is too small

So what would you do if someone broke into your house? Just let them rob you?

Why have one then? If it came down to someone breaking in and robbing my house and raping and murdering my family members.. it's either our lives... or the smurf that chanced breaking in. So yeah... I feel pretty damn safe. lol

Yeah, because it's either letting someone rob you or shoot them, eh.

Exactly. What a horrible thing for someone to do. These aren't pedos, they are legal gun owners.

So, if you were home when your home was being broken into you wouldnt go for your gun?
I think you will say "no," and maybe you can imagine that situation based on what you have already written.
I HAVE been in that situation and i REALLY wanted to be able to get to the gun. The guy didnt get in, but i cant help but think of the "what ifs."

Why? You're a gun owner, correct? So what are you trying to say about these fellow gun owners? Owning a gun makes them murderers or criminals? I'd like to know why you even have a gun if its not for safety issues.

It's either letting someone rob/rape/murder you and your family or shoot them. I choose to shoot and protect my family.

Maybe it's just because guns are for hunting, here, that I feel the way I do. -shrug-

Guns are used for hunting here also. No one knows WHY these people have guns, just that they have them. I find it so hilarious when people who don't even live in America act like they know how it can be here. The reality of a home invasion is very real, regardless if you live in the 'hood or in some uppity rich neighborhood. People entering the homes of women for the purpose of raping them happens ALL the time.

So yes, we have guns to protect ourselves. Not because we want to go shooting every tom, dick and harry who pisses us off. That's not what being a responsible gun owner is about.
