if you have IBS
posted 26th Dec
What were your symptoms at first?
What is the treatment, and is there anything available during pregnancy?
I am passing out nearly every time I need to have a bowel movement from how painful my stomach cramps get. It doesn't matter if it is a regular or runny movement. I am NOT straining, or pushing. The pain comes before I even make it to the toilet. I just passed out in my car (pulled over in time thank God) and really can't take this anymore. I need to know what kind of doctor to see and if this sounds like what you have. TIA

I don't have IBS but you definitely need to see a gastroenterologist since it has to do with your bowl. I hope you can get it figured out, that seems really scary.

You'll need to see a GI specialist. Not sure if there is meds safe for during pregnancy, but def. something you should look into that sounds horrific!

first you don't pass out when having a bowel movement with IBS. IBS stands for irritable bowel syndrome it's where a person is either extremely constipated or where a person has almost no control over when and where they have to go. You need to go to your regular PCP first and they can refer you to the right specialist. good luck and hope you get this diagnosed and treated before you or someone else get hurt should this happen again while driving!
