Just keep it clean for Grandma

We got up at 9 am.

Grandma is on her way, it's a 4 hour drive.

I asked them, "please keep it clean until grandma gets here PLEASE!"

Of course they all chime, "Yes mommy"

And my house is trashed.

Today is our Christmas dinner with my mother. I was hoping they wouldn't destroy the house until after my mother arrived at 1. It's about the same time my brother will be arriving with his kids. And his daughter can destroy a space with toys in about 1 minutes.

But no...so now I'm quite literally going in circles. Cleaning one area, then cleaning another, and turning around and cleaning another.

And I have to start the turkey at noon.

hahah this was me a few days ago. I gave up once the guests arrived and it's still a tornado lol

I'm sure she didn't mind! with 3 kids it's expected!

Ok so it was horrible.

We cleaned everything except my knitting needles. Yes I'm serious here. My mom showed up at noonish, my brother at 1ish.

And my nephew got a hold of my latch hook and got it hooked on his lower eye lid.

Yes I'm serious here.He was tugging on it, it was horrible.

Luckily it didn't go through his eye at all or into his eye, and they're going to the doc tomorrow anyways, so she was ok with staying but I felt bad.

With all the chaos and trying to pick up toys from Christmas presents and opening more Christmas presents, we all saw it and didn't pay attention to it.

He has a big swollen lower lid now.

Ah no! I'm glad he is ok!! that's scary and made me cringe lol

did he go to the doctor today? how is he?

well it's ok accidents happen especially with a lot of chaos. Glad it wasn't as bad as it could of been!

Poor him & you!!

So I just got off the phone with my brother. He said this morning he woke up with a puss filled eye, they took him to the appt, the doctor said all good, and gave him some antibiotic eye drops.

Whew.

Aw poor little guy, glad it's nothing too serious though.

Just think all the birthdays and holidays are over for awhile now lol   time to relax!

Yep.

My mother said too, she thinks she's bad luck. Last year when she came down on New years, they got in a horrible car crash where an elderly woman totalled their car. It was nasty.

that sucks. thankfully everyone was ok both times!!

tell someone else to host the festivities... take the pressure off of you!
