When a baby drops?

When a baby drops is it a sudden change or do they gradually drop? And when should a baby begin to drop?

It all depends on the baby. Some drop gradually, some drop all at once, and as far as WHEN...some don't drop until labor, some drop earlier. There is no "correct" answer for this because it differs from baby to baby.

I never knew my baby dropped. But at my baby shower when I was 37 weeks, everyone told me I looked like I did. *Shrugs*

I asked Cory today if I looked like the baby was dropping, I am 35 weeks. He said she looked a little lower but I don't really notice any difference. She still seems to be laying with her back at my left side which is where she pretty much stays at,

With both my boys they must of done it gradually lol because iv heard from my mom and ect that sometimes they lock into place suddenly and it hurt like hell

I dropped all at once with my first I carry high so when I dropped Igot a space between the top of my stomach and my boobs so it was easy to tell for me

i got told you know the baby has dropped when you can fit a clenched hand inbetween your boobs & the start of your bump. mine dropped suddenly at 27 weeks & hes been there since but its not been painful unless i walk to far. but hes now fully engaged has been for 6 weeks
