I *think* I might not have tore because the nurse I pushed with for the first hour was sweeping her finger around my vaginal opening and I guess stretching me out slowly? Idk

Umm...the vagina is DESIGNED for delivery...it stretches to accommodate the baby, and then goes back...it won't go back to the exact tightness you had before the baby, but it won't be so loose you can't feel anything. Kegel exercises work all the muscles in the pubic region. Don't even worry about what you MIL said. I've had 3 kids so far and I tore worse with my third, and her head wasn't the biggest. Your MIL is an idiot.

she's stupid. it was probably a combination of what the nurse did and probably not pushing when your body wasnt ready to push.

I've had 3 vaginal deliveries and only tore with the first. My husband says it feels the same as it always has.



I will admit to being kinda embarrassed about not tearing.. It's not true, but I feel like everyone thinks my vagina is just flapping in the wind.

If your husband thinks it feels the same as always, then I wouldn't worry about anything else. I got cut with my first and third, tore with my second, and still tore with my third. I haven't gotten any complaints from my SO, so I don't worry.
