Ortho Tri-Cyclin LO Vs. NuvaRing

posted 25th Dec
Out of these two BC which do you feel is best?

I have had the Mirena IUD for 4 years now, the only good it has done is kept me from being pregnant. I don't ever get a period, but I get horrible cramps, headaches, acne, weight gain, and my boobs ALWAYS hurt.

I have decided to finally get this stupid thing out of me, and switch to a different method. I know BC effects every woman differently, but if you have taken either of these please give your opinion.

TIA

I keep hearing people say that. It makes me nervous. But If I choose to go on that pill, we are gonna do the pull out method just to be safe. I do not want to be pregnant atm. lol

I'm just worried that it will fall out.

Weird question, but are you supposed to ever take it out and wash it?

I am on Ortho and love it. Any birth control you take is going to be trial and error. Some say Ortho is wonderful, some say its crap. I have had limited to no side effects and the pill generally is the only thing I personally trust for my health and preventing pregnancy.

Ive used it in the past and have never had a problem with it falling out or feeling like its going to. No, you dont wash it. I have also used the ortho lo and prefer the nuva ring. With ortho I had 7 day periods and with nuva I had periods that were super light and 2-3 days.

Yea I'll have to just try it, and switch if it doesn't work for me.

Are you on the regular ortho or the low hormone one? And do you still get a period?

In my personal experience, NuvaRing gave me the worst yeast infection of my LIFE. I hated it. I would go with the Ortho.

Never had a problem with it falling out, not even during sex. Hell most of the time I forgot it was there. No you don't take it out and wash it.

Low hormone because my body simply cant handle the high dose. I will turn psycho lol. And yes, I get a period every month. I was very irregular and ortho evened my periods out perfectly. With the pill, there are 7 non hormonal pills that you take and those will be the days (or close to) your period will start.
