C-section mommies!

posted 25th Dec
Okay, so I'm 2 weeks PP.

A few days after I got home, I realized it was painful to pee. It was burning, almost like a stabbing pain. I assumed I got an infection from the catheter. So, my doctor prescribed me Nitrofurantoin...took it....it didn't do anything for me. (I have read and many people claim it sucks and won't clear up an infection, but will prevent it.) So then...I went in to the office, peed in a cup, but the results won't be back until tomorrow. They prescribed me Keflex, which I've taken before, and...I've been taking it for 3/4 days now and I have felt NO improvement.

Also, I have NO urge to pee. I drink tons during the day. But..I can sleep for 12 hours, wake up, and feel no urge to pee. I do get up and go pee, just because I know there is liquid in my bladder...But not because I feel it.

I guess I'm just extremely worried that the c-section messed up my bladder. :/

i had sometimes painful urination after my lo was born...i think it had to do with the catheter causing some irritation since the nurse was kind of shocked that i said ow when she took it out...lol...but i didn't develop any kind of infection until months later...but on a good note it did stop hurting after a couple of weeks

It is probably from the catheter, maybe you pulled it or something when you were numb? It bothered me the first few days to pee after I got it out but that was it.

OP, I had the same exact experience as you. Doctor was convinced that I either had an infection or that my bladder needed time to recooperate after having a huge baby on it for a long period of time. He put me on antibiotics for it but it didnt work. I, however, was convinced that they hurt me when they put the catheter in. It took several weeks before the pain went away and I still have some issues with not feeling when I need to pee. I'm 4 months PP.
