Ugh! Being on your back is the worst position to be in because the baby has to come down underneath the pubic bone. The nurses at my local hospital were wonderful during labor...they had me up and walking the halls, in the tub, on the birthing ball...it was all extremely helpful. The ball probably the most, although the tub was fantastic too.

I loved being in the shower while laboring at home, the bath didn't do it for me, but the hot water from the shower....ahhh!

Well as someone who's given birth without medicines and it was a VBA2C I'd say it just involves a lot of positioning , finding what works for you, and just not caring if you curse or scream/yell. It wasn't like extremely painful for me though anyway it was not much different than the cramps you get when you have your period and a bad bout of diarrhea at the same time and this weird back pain I really can't describe. I googled it to see if someone else knew what I was talking about and I don't know really if they had it similar lol. It was just really more uncomfortable than painful for me. My two c-sections both hurt a hell lot more. I also felt pretty good after my vaginal birth and had no issues walking around or doing normal things other than not lifting heavy things. I think if I had an epi it would make it hard to feel normal after it.
