bought a roast for dinner tonight, just checked and was supposed to use or freeze by the 18th   sometimes i really wish i'd pay attention..

That sucks! Did you buy it and leave it in the fridge too long or did they sell it when it was already off? Can you get another one in time for dinner?

it was totally my bad, i didn't even think about it because i was originally planning on making it right away and then changed my mind to make it for christmas but didn't even think about needing to freeze it..
i'm not sure what stores are open and i don't really feel like going out and missing any of the festivities   it'll be alright we have fun things planned for breakfast and lunch it's just a bummer though to waste it.

Oh I have done that so many times lol. I hate it especially when you are really looking forward to making whatever it is. Now every time I buy meat it all goes straight in the freezer unless I know i'm 100% cooking it that night (sick of wasting money lol)

If it doesn't smell funny yet it should be ok.

This! I wouldn't pitch it until you smell it...I've done that before and the meat was fine.
