Really?!

DS got back from the other grandparents and sperm donors house, they said he fell from a chair and got a fat lip. They said it was no big deal... I go to brush his teeth before bed check his mouth and see that he bruised the whole inside of his mouth, tore his upper frenulum completely from the gum, and there are blood pockets in his mouth!! Really?! That is a big smurfing deal, I am taking him to the dentist on wednesday. I am so pissed :/ my stomach hurts just thinking about it.

How old is he? Is he hurting?


I'd be upset too BTW. What morons for not checking his mouth :/

Sometimes kids get hurt and it sucks....try not to let your disdain for him exaggerate the problem.

Him and I get along for the most part... I am just upset that they tried to play it down.

He is 4, almost 5. He is mouth is swollen and he says it hurts. I gave him some tylenol and had him swish some warm salt water. Thats what it said to do online. My neighbor is a dental assistant so I am going to take him over there tomorrow and see what she says.

Keep in mind that, that family raised boys, so they're probably more used to kids roughhousing and hurting themselves. I have a 5 year old and trust me, he knows how to get into some mischief, but booboos always heal.

Probably an unfortunate accident. I highly doubt the grandparents would want that happening to their grandchild, right? Or do they seem evil and like to do drugs? Only you would know but those are questions I would probably ask myself before judging them. If similar things have happened to your child before that you dont like about them i would just stop taking the child over and explain to them why.
