PPD *vent*

posted 24th Dec
I have PPD, no doubt. It's killing me. It's rather mild, I'm sure as I'm not thinking of killing myself or hurting my girls... but all I want to do is hold my baby and cry. I want to put her down when she is sleeping so I can get something done, but when I do I feel empty and just end up picking her back up and crying.

I'm not eating right because of the depression. And I'm afraid that is going to affect my breast milk. I'm snappy with my older daughter and SO and my dad cannot stop pissing me off. Both SO and dad understand what I'm going through but my daughter is 5. She keeps asking why I'm crying, asks if it's her fault and it just makes it so much worse....

I know I've been debby downer lately in my posts. Sorry about that. How long does this smurf last?? I don't remember going through this when Novali was born!!

Could be the baby blues which should just last a few weeks. If it is full blown PPD I would call your doctor and see if they can get you on something to start helping. Try eating small meals as it will affect your supply and if nothing else make sure you are drinking tons and tons of water.

Baby blues... maybe that's what I have. I told my doctor at my last visit and she said if it's not gone in a month to come back in..... I swear I'm going to dehydrate from crying! haha

I'm trying to drink more water, and eat more but it's just so hard... SO was making sure I was eating, but he isn't here right now... which pisses me off to no end.

*hugs* I had full blown PPD with my last. I was doing great the first few days but when I found out I had low supply after doing everything right it broke me. My husband was my only saving grace I cant imagine having to do two kids with no one around. I promise it gets better and sometimes just talking (posting) about it helps. You are far from alone and everything is normal. Im sure with the holidays it isn't helping either. Im 11 months pp and some days are better than others but having a good support system is key. Have your older one help when she can if she wants and cuddling up on the couch with a few good movies and just holding the kids does wonders.

Oh, SO will be here tomorrow, but he was gone since Thursday.

I curled up today with my oldest and read to her... but I have such a short temper and she just asks so many questions..

I sound like a horrible mom, I know!

You arent a horrible mom at all. You sound like a normal mother who has a newborn. If you ever need to talk feel free to pm me.
