He knows you won't do anything without him so he makes the plans HE WANTS.

I'm assuming a lot of these are previously mentioned issues, but if they're true I agree whole-heartedly. Why does it matter what he does if your family hasn't spent much time with your son? Take him to see his family. If your SO doesn't want to come then he doesn't have to. Let him be an inconsiderate prick.

Aww I'm sorry, I know how you feel.   Today is 11 years since I lost my dad. And didn't have much time to fix problems. Sucks
