Hospital bereavement services

Have you ever used them? This second trimester loss is harder than I could have imagined and I need something. I'm not a religious person and would love to talk with a professional who has experience with this kind of loss specifically.

I used it in 2008 when we lost a twin at 19 weeks. It helped me some, better than doing it on my own but it's still a struggle to think about it.

Was it group counseling or individual? Did you go weekly? Monthly?

When i had lost my first child at 24 weeks i left the hospital against medical advice. I ended going insane and eventually checked my self in into a mental hospital

Wow I'm so sorry. I definitely don't want things to get even close to that far.

I was in complete denial and in an abusive relationship at the time. I was a walking time bomb. Plus my ex was cheating on me while i was in the hospital losing our child.

That's horrible. I'm very lucky in that department. My husband is suffering too but he's been a huge support for me.

It was weekly group, I met some of my closest friends there

I will definitely be looking into it. It would be great to have friends who can relate.

When I lost my first child at 22 weeks, I also left against medical advice.

Did they tell you why you lost your LO?

Thank you. Unfortunately my insurance does not cover more than one therapist at a time (I already see a psychiatrist for AD/HD). There is a nurse through the hospital that counsels one-on-one (covered for one year) but I think the group counseling might be what I need, which meets once a month. I'm going to check it out.
