cut myself shaving *graphic*

posted 23rd Dec
So I dropped husbands razor while shaving, tried to catch it, ended up slicing a chunk out of my leg with the "beard trimmer" smurfing blade on the back.

I used bactine spray and put antibiotic ointment on it with a big bandaid. The whole area is about 1.5" long. That was friday. Last night it was itching really bad so I took off the bandage and it looked AWFUL. Huge raised red area around it. I let it air dry, bactine again, let it air dry, then antibiotic and two smaller bandaids so it could get some air.

The red raised spot is now totally broke out with blisters   I'm going to stop using the bactine and ointment, I had a piercing break out in blisters before after using antibacterial ointment. Any suggestions on what I CAN use that might help? It is freaking me out and the itching is driving me CRAZY.

I don't have a general family dr yet, medicaid is impossible to find a damn dr and I won't see my OB again for three weeks or more :-S

I was waiting to see something graphic   Sorry you're in pain, but that's not bad at all. Neosporin or triple antibiotic and a bandaid will do it just fine.

You probably don't want to do what I do for infected cuts that are starting to heal. I reopen the wound and douse them with Listerine or Hydrogen Peroxide and butterfly tape them back shut. I've done it for cuts, deep scratches, and even cat bites/scratches.

Are you using Neosporin specifically or something else? If not, try that. It always heals things quickly.

Yikes! If I were you, I'd dump some Hydrogen Peroxide on it and then apply some Neosporin to the cut. Feel better.

I was waiting to see a bigger circular type cut. I was picturing the time I cut myself and the amount of blood that appeared, left a cute scar

I know, but she swears by it. She always put it on my cuts when I was little.

If its not bleeding I'd try to let it air out. Maybe rubbif alcohol? Idk jm
Not good with cuts. I probably do all the wrong things haha. Legs take time to heal

I used the neosporin on friday and last night.

I can't really reopen it, it more took chunks out than sliced me open if that makes sense, so I cant really suture it back with stickies, I thought about it before I got a good look at it. There's just a bunch of skin missing.

Worried the vaseline in the oiintment might be causing the blistering rash :-\ Used the last of my peroxide to get blood out of the mattress LOL I have rubbing alcohol and witch hazel though? And tea tree oil..I didn't even think about that until just now.. maybe that might work?

I got a cut, believe it or not, from a DOG LEASH when I was a teen. You could see the fat in my leg coming through the wound   THAT was graphic. I should have gotten stitches, but I didn't give a fck, and but butterfly closures on it and went on with my day. Scar looks so weird now
